Happy Monday, GR!
Hope you all enjoyed yourselves and this beautiful weather we had this weekend! I will never stop being amazed at the peculiar Michigan weather during the changing of the seasons – but trust me, that is no complaint — give me more 70’s and sunshine and I’ll take it! I spent my weekend loving my backyard and putting some long overdue TLC it, enjoyed the Saugatuck Bootleg Bash yesterday (follow up post to come) and now I’m looking forward to my first ever cider mill love – Vander Mill – opening their Grand Rapids location, today (and it looks pretty amazing).
Vander Mill opened in 2006 in Spring Lake, Michigan and now you can pretty much count on most local bars, restaurants, shops and grocery stores carrying their delicious assortment of ciders. With their new location at 505 Ball NE, they are expanding their production along with the new tap room and a full servicing kitchen.
Check out this awesome video released by VM to get the whole scoop on the delicious food situation and the gorgeous new taproom. There’s also this great write up (by Rapid Growth Media) about the founders of VM – Paul and Amanda Vander Heide – and history of the cider mill.
The new tap room is officially open right now and the kitchen is open at 5pm. If you’re looking for a great Monday date night or just want to experience Vander Mill yourself, check it out!
