The air is finally feeling a bit crisp and nothing screams fall more than enjoying Autumn themed activities! The Downtown Market holds classes regularly but there are some “awesomely autumn” classes that are all hands on, span a variety of age levels and taste preferences and a fabulous way to spend some time celebrating the season with family and friends. - Autumn Nights in the Mediterranean: Friday, 10/14 6pm – 8:30pm – I love that the market is incorporating some fresh flavors of the Mediterranean into their Fall lineup of featured classes! You’ll learn how to make souvlaki, an olive tapenade and become a professional at using olive oil for your meals. Class age recommendation is 16 and up, costs $65/person and you can register here.
- Stews & Brews: Tuesday, 10/18 6pm – 8:30pm – What better way to warm up than with some hearty stews (classic gumbo specifically for this class), enjoy a beer and some bar snacks while socializing with friends and making new ones? This hands-on class has a 21 and up age limit, costs $65/person and you can register here.
- Pumpkin Patch Cooking: Friday, 10/21 6pm – 8:30pm: This class is for you pumpkin lovers (you know who you are)! Or, really anyone looking to find ways to incorporate this seasonally abundant food into your cooking. Learn how to make one of my favorites: pumpkin sage soup as well as some delicious pumpkin cupcakes and other delectables during the class.C lass age recommendation is 16 and up, costs $55/person and you can register here.
- Booooooozy Halloween Cocktail Party: Tuesday, 10/25 6pm – 8:30pm: Need to get your theme in order for the Halloween Party you’re throwing this year? Well then, you better sign up for this class now! Learn how to make some festively spiked drinks for your adult guests, soup and dessert all while sipping on your creations and enjoying an appetizer. Class restricted age of 21 and up, costs $55/person and you can register here.
